Planning permission has been granted, on appeal, for 145 new homes at Alresford in Essex. Despite the Council’s concerns regarding landscape impact, the Inspector found the site to be “physically well contained and visually well related to the built-up area of Alresford”, with the Site Layout Plan showing “opportunities for substantial landscaping and the incorporation of green spaces”.
CSA worked on behalf of Taylor Wimpey to provide urban design, landscape and ecology advice throughout the course of the project. CSA’s Managing Director, Clive Self, provided evidence to the Inquiry on the effects of the development on the character and appearance of the area. Director Aidan Marsh addressed third party concerns about potential impacts to the Colne Estuary Special Protection Area (SPA) and ancient woodland.
