Work starts on site at University of Birmingham Green Heart project

The Birmingham Green Heart Project is a striking new 12 acre parkland in the centre of the University of Birmingham’s historic campus, which will be created to open up views across the whole campus, as envisaged in the 1920s. The Green Heart is for students, staff and the local community, combining space for performances, socialising, meeting and studying, to be completed in 2019. CSA’s ecologists have been involved in this ground breaking project since 2015 from the concept design stage through to the detailed surveys and biodiversity enhancements and mitigation. They will continue to advise and oversee the installation of a number of habitat features, including a ‘wildlife wall’ which is an integral part of the contemporary new Edgbaston campus.
