Verde SW1 is a state-of-the-art, office-led redevelopment in the heart of the West End. Now complete, the building has expansive roof gardens with spectacular views across the London skyline. Originally the Department of Communities and Local Government (DCLG), the building has been converted into a next-generation property. CSA’s ecologists were able to ensure that biodiversity opportunities for London priority species, such as elevated bat and swift boxes and nectar rich planting for insects and birds, were carefully integrated into the project, helping to achieve the highest environmental and sustainable project standards of BREEAM “Excellent”.
Our team worked with Gardiner and Theobald, Tishman Speyer and renowned architects Aukett Swanke to design an efficient and harmonious space for people to work in as well as enjoy the natural environment and daylight with a nine story glass atrium and six outdoor roof gardens creating a “park in the sky” overlooking Buckingham Palace, St. James’s Park and Westminster Abbey.
