Cotswolds: Using a Bat Low Impact Class Licence (BLICL)

LinkedIn

Working for a private client, CSA completed a suite of bat surveys at the site last year to inform proposals for the conversion of an old stone barn into a wedding and events venue. Further to the discovery of a very small number of brown long-eared bats, CSA was able to agree a fairly straightforward mitigation strategy with the local planning authority, enabling consent to be granted. The site has just been successfully registered using the Bat Low Impact Class Licence (BLICL), which provides a fast and cost-effective approach where impacts to bats are “low” (click here for more details). Works will now commence this summer, with modest supervision and oversight from our Registered Consultant to ensure things go smoothly and in compliance with the BLICL.
