Success for Bedfordshire Homes

An Inspector has resolved to grant outline planning consent for 8 dwellings in the Bedfordshire village of Clophill. An important aspect of the appeal was to consider the effect of the proposed development upon the character and appearance of the area. The Inspector found that the proposed development would be in keeping with the general grain and form of development in the street scene, and comprise a logical infill between two existing residential properties. Moreover, the Inspector recognised the benefits of the proposals to replant and bolster an existing hedgerow which would mitigate the impact of the development.

CSA prepared the Site Layout for the project on behalf of Mr D Catlin (Anthony Catlin Will Trust). An important aspect of the Site Layout was to show how open fields would be retained to the rear of the proposed dwellings, which the Inspector recognised would help to soften the transition between the rural and urban environment, and help assimilate the site into the wider landscape.
