CSA Environmental is pleased to be part of the project team for Northlake in Thurrock, a mixed-use development of up to 2,500 dwellings, a primary school and community facilities, public realm works, environmental improvements and supporting infrastructure. CSA’s Landscape Planning team worked closely with the project team to produce the Landscape and Visual chapter of the Environmental Statement. We also had a good dialogue with the Landscape Officer of Thurrock Borough Council to ensure that key viewpoints and locations of the CGIs were agreed before the application was submitted.
A landscape-led approach underpinned the development. Landscape character areas were identified within the site and these provided the framework for the layout with the design of each area responding to its respective character area.
The application was validated by Thurrock Borough Council in November 2018 and we eagerly await their decision.
