Isobel joined CSA in 2026 after three years working with a rivers trust, supporting community engagement in freshwater conservation. She has gained seasonal experience as a field ecologist, assisting with species surveys for bats, great crested newts, water voles and reptiles. Isobel has particular interests in bat surveys and has been involved in a range of projects, including harp trapping and radio-tagging; and is an active member of her local bat group. She also has experience in bird ringing and hopes to work towards applying for her T permit.

Isobel holds a bachelor’s degree in Conservation Biology and a master’s degree in Ecological Consultancy. She is a qualifying member of CIEEM and is looking forward to developing her skills further at CSA, working towards her Level 1 bat and GCN licences and strengthening her botanical knowledge with the aim of undertaking the FISC.
