Jamie Woollam

Jamie is one of around 200 Chartered Ecologists in the UK. He established CSA’s Hertfordshire ecology team in 2010, following a period in conservation research. Jamie is part of CSA’s wider Management Team and is the lead for Biodiversity Net Gain and Nature Recovery.

At the interface between ecology and the planning system Jamie has broad experience of Ecological Impact Assessment (EcIA), Habitats Regulations Assessment (HRA) and Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG). Jamie has a particular interest in the ecology, management and restoration of lowland England’s habitats, holding a Level 5 FISC certificate in botanical identification. He remains active in ecological survey and implementation work, holding Natural England licences for European Protected Species (EPS) and delivering habitat restoration in the field.

Jamie works closely with CSA’s design teams to deliver high quality advice across a range of sectors and project scales. He recognises the wider challenges and opportunities for clients and their projects, and provides expert witness services through written representations, hearings and inquiries.
