Following the production of an archaeological desk-based assessment at this former plant nursery site, a geophysical survey and trial trenching identified the presence of an Iron Age/Roman farmstead at the western end of the area proposed or residential development.
Following negotiations with the County Council Archaeologist it was agreed that this farmstead could be excavated as part of a planning condition.
