Nestled on the edge of the picturesque village of Cuckfield, West Sussex, this project combined the provision of affordable and desirable houses, in a natural setting and local identity.
CSA provided landscape and ecological advice, helping to achieve a sensitive development with strong green infrastructure provision. The retained and newly planted native hedgerows provide important habitat for dormice, and CSA undertook all the required survey and licensing work for this site. The scheme provides significant new native planting and locally characteristic oak and chestnut post and rail fencing. The resultant housing development has a distinct and pleasing character, which demonstrates the benefits of closely co-ordinating the design with landscape and ecological considerations.
