CSA was engaged to provide heritage and archaeology services in relation to proposed redevelopment of part of the former Eggborough Power Station. The construction of the power station had removed the potential for below-ground remains but the buildings themselves were of sufficient interest to warrant a programme of recording prior to their demolition.
CSA Environmental liaised with the archaeological advisor to the LPA and Historic England and prepared a Written Scheme of Investigation (WSI) for historic building recording. The recording was undertaken in partnership with Ric Tyler MCIfA and the resulting report provides the necessary ‘preservation by record’. No further heritage works were required.
