The CSA ecology team have been providing ecological advice to East Sussex County Council to inform proposals to redevelop redundant ESCC buildings and address health and safety concerns.
CSA undertook a Preliminary Ecology Appraisal (PEA) identifying potential constraints to the proposed works, and completed surveys for badgers, bats, reptiles as well as assessments of botanical and invertebrate interest to inform building maintenance and redevelopment works. CSA will be working closely with ESCC to formulate an appropriate biodiversity mitigation strategies, ensuring compliance with wildlife legislation and planning policy, whilst addressing timing and budget constraints. It is likely that the project could be delivered under the Bat Low Impact Class Licence scheme.
