The North East Crawley development comprises several thousand dwellings, as well as supporting community infrastructure, such as schools, employment areas, local centres and recreational open space. CSA have been involved with the site for many years, having initially prepared the masterplan, DAS, Landscape Chapter of the ES and other supporting documents. We also represented our clients, Taylor Wimpey and Persimmon, at a rather protracted public inquiry.
Having achieved outline planning permission, we have continued to work with Persimmon and Taylor Wimpey and have successfully discharged the landscape conditions.
Our approach to all sites is to undertake a thorough landscape assessment, which identify the key landscape assets of the site and to use these to add to the sense of place. As the attached image shows, we also seek to maximise, what some would see as a constraint, such as SUDs features, and use these to enhance the development, for both residents and wildlife alike.
