CSA first became involved in this project in response to comments from the archaeological advisor to the LPA and Historic England, following submission of a planning application. The glamping pods are within the setting of the Grade II* listed Church of All Saints, a designated heritage asset of the highest significance, and are also within a field containing medieval settlement earthworks.

CSA prepared a desk-based assessment and photogrammetry earthwork survey was undertaken by a specialist unit. Following this, the access track to the glamping pods was realigned to avoid medieval earthworks. CSA agreed the scope of an archaeological watching brief, which was undertaken on condition. CSA also prepared a detailed setting assessment.

Planning permission was granted in 2020 and has been implemented, the site now operates as Ragdale Glamping.
