Proposals included delivery of ‘Legacy Park’, a ‘Strategic Ecology Corridor’ which provides significant green infrastructure through the site, further open space and amenity provision alongside new residential development.
CSA worked closely with Canterbury City Council landscape and ecology officers to agree the design of the open space to ensure it provided high quality amenity whilst delivering benefits for local biodiversity. Our integrated approach to landscape design ensured that both objectives could be met.
Taylor Wimpey received full planning consent for Legacy Park and Phase 1 of residential development in 2017; with implementation commencing 2018. Legacy Park will provide a significant area of open space and semi-natural habitat, with a network of informal footpaths providing access to some of best view of the historic Canterbury Cathedral.
CSA Ecologists and Landscape Architects have been working closely with demolition, building and landscaping contractors to ensure ecological mitigation and enhancement measures are delivered to a high standard.
