CSA’s urban design team worked closely with their ecology and landscape architecture colleagues to prepare design proposals for 535 new dwellings, a local shop, community hall and playing fields. The masterplan had to balance a number of issues, including mitigating the proposed development’s landscape impacts, maintaining and enhancing the site’s ecological value along its boundaries and accommodating a diverted bus route through the development.
The masterplan was submitted in support of an outline planning application which received a resolution to grant by Stratford-on-Avon District Council in April 2016. Submitted in December 2015, this demonstrates how a well-designed and carefully managed project can reach a successful outcome in a short space of time.
